Come on down, grab a glass of wine, and have some fun!

Every Open Studio we are asked to produce a board.
They sell these to help with the running costs of the show.
I think they sell them for a mere £55, which is a bargin.
This is mine for the next show, I hope it dries in time...

So come on down, grab a glass of wine and enjoy some art...only 10 days left to go!
There are 130 artist taking part over the four days, starting on the 10th May.
My studio is in the red block No 292.

Next to my studio is Katharine Le Hardy, look at her amazing painting.
Katharine has magic hands, she paints scapes her water, looks like a mirror.
You have to come and have a look!

Btw I am a little addicted to twitter at the moment...follow me, we can have some fun! :)

I found you.

Here is a close up of a painting I finished today.
I had to fight to get it to work, and in the end I hope you will agree, I won.
I am beginning to let go of the full silver/gold leaf panels and play with smaller elements of leaf instead.
I really like the reflection, and can't let this go completely. However I really like to beat this reflection up I hasten to add, the more scratched, painted upon and stained it is, the happier I feel.

It's satisfying winning occasionally!

I managed to grab a few hours painting today while my kids were both cuddled up home from school on the sofa. It's the start of term, and sadly sickness still looms in our house.

So while the rain came down I sat and listened to it and managed to finish this butterfly panel. I am planning to photograph my new work soon, so those of you planning to come to the next Wimbledon Art studios Open weekend can see what I have been up to, in advance. It's in two and a half weeks time. eeek!

Re working

Re working an old piece.

I am trying to leave butterflies behind for a bit, but they keep coming back.

Yesterday I distressed a board I had gilded in silver, only to find myself drawing butterflies on it.

Perhaps one or two can get through the net.
